Self Awareness

The Journey of Self Awareness.

In today’s times we feel that we are on a treadmill, going nowhere – fast!  24 hours in a day is no longer enough time.  How often do we say “I don’t have the time…”  Time is the most valuable commodity we own and it is incumbent upon us to live our lives to the fullest potential we can muster.

It is vital to feel happy, content and satisfied with ourselves.  This immediately projects into good energy and is contagious to all who come into contact with us.  You will have experienced coming into contact with people you enjoy being with, who make you laugh and feel lighthearted and you will also have experienced being in somebody’s company that seems to ‘drag’ you down, leaving you drained and tired.

We are too polite to extricate ourselves from this type of relationship but it has become a necessary exercise to look deep into the life you lead and the choices you make.  Very often we feel forced into making choices that conflict with our own desires and resentment builds, feeding into the negative position of ‘self’.

When we look deeper, we discover that many events from our past – family dynamics, school friendships, first boyfriend, lover, ex-lover, loss etc. have had an enormous impact on us.  We become a society of people pleasers, doing what we think will make others happy, neglecting the importance of ‘self’.

Hypnosis assists with  intricate insight into the life you are living and the changes you can effect to reconnect with ‘self’. To manifest your own desires, happiness and goals without being ‘self-ish’.  This is a common misperception when you invest your time into yourself.

The relationship with oneself is so underrated and yet it’s the most important relationship of your life!

It is only when you are in touch with yourself that you are the most effective person you can be.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) and Hypnosis

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is thought to occur only when violence has struck, or your family is under threat, when criminals invade your homes, hijackings overturn your lives, someone you love passes suddenly. Yes to all of the above, but sometimes the trigger need not be a tsunami.

A car accident, bumpy, turbulent air travel, sickness, breakdown of a relationship, poor work review, retrenchment, just to mention a few, are equally crippling and can present as ‘trauma’ with all the fear paralysis that comes with it.

Do you suffer from any of the following? Is it impacting negatively on your life, your sense of wellbeing?

  • Memory loss and inability to concentrate
  • Insomnia or other forms of sleep disorders
  • Flashbacks
  • Anxiety with associated physical pain and discomfort
  • Grinding of teeth
  • Uncontrollable temper tantrums and rage
  • Inability to relax mind and body
  • Restlessness
  • Nightmares and night sweats unrelated to menopause
  • Over reacting to situations and behaving in an unreasonable way
  • Fears and phobias that create turmoil in your wellbeing

While most people ‘seem’ to cope well, there are times where negative feelings are triggered by either a person, smell, sound or unwelcome memory that can set one back into a crippling state of depression.

A loud bang that could be mistaken for a gun shot, may be a huge trigger for a person that has experienced a trauma involving guns. Rational thinking and processing departs and fear sets in all over again.

Many people dismiss counselling after extreme issues (which is a big mistake) and most people dismiss average events without attaching any importance at all, until they begin to suffer depression from an unknown source. Small and large issues attract the same extreme ‘fight or flight’ responses.

Hypnotherapy is a calm and noninvasive method of identifying any trauma by unlocking the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is a vast sensory ‘bank’. As mentioned before, sounds, sights, tastes, smells and emotions can trigger off episodes that reduce our ability to handle the memory in a logical and analytical way.

Hypnotherapy is an effective treatment that identifies the ISE (INITIAL SENSITIZING EVENT) in order for the victim to understand the origination of the fear/stress or extreme anxiety. Once identified, immediate methods are employed to reduce the fear paralysis and to restore well being and confidence in their ability to deal with the event in a profoundly manageable way.

Each trigger is identified so that the client experiences more control in these areas, and finally regression is another form of investigation on an even deeper level of SSE (SUBSEQUENT SENSITIZING EVENTS) which has contributed to their feelings of helplessness.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful treatment that reaches the ‘core’ of the issue and immediately begins resolving those feelings of helplessness. Triggers are neutralized and finally the client feels healed.
