We need food, drink, sleep and sex. We need to have safely and protection and to be free of fear, and we also need for structure and order. We require a sense of belonging and love. Social contact, friends and family. A positive self esteem where we are valued and respected. These aspects result in self actualisation where we can grow and fulfil our potential.

To improve motivation and success we must rid feelings of failure.  There is a need to establish goals and goals provide incentive, creating a sense of achievement.

In order to increase your motivation for success there is a need to define exactly what you want to achieve.  For example, a hypnotherapist concentrates and focuses on the individual or group in order to bring insight and personal growth and knowledge of self. It is essential to know what you really want and set realistic goals. So easy to procrastinate and leave ideas and goals till later. This causes stress and fear of failure.

Loss & Separation

Loss and separation

Emotions associated with any type of separation reaction occur whenever your lifesyle changes significantly.  Many of us do not handle change well.  It is important to remember to confront feelings of despair to help healing. Denying or suppression of feelings will delay recovery.

There are different types of loss. Death and divorce can be devastating to an entire fanily.

Job loss threatens financial security and can result on feelings of low self esteem and loss of confidence.

Loss of a dream creating feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and frustrstion, often effecting the entire family.

Relocation maybe a better lifestyle but may cause feelings of lonliness and abandonment.

Loss of health creates fear and negativity.  The inability to live ‘normally’ and enjoy past pleasures.

Rejection causes sadness, anger and hurt being the most predominant emotions.

Often the physical reactions are imsomnia, fatigue, a change in eating patterns

There are five stages of recovety.

Immobilisation.  A feeling of emotional paralysis
Letting go. Forgiveness of self and others

Self esteem

Loss of self esteem does not suddenly occur. Self depreciation is not an accident.  It reflects a condition that is rooted in the past. The major cause is often judgmental parents, teachers or friends. it results in fear of failure, an immobilising condition and often a fear of success.

Self esteem maybe how we perceive our physical self. Society has unrealistic expectations.  Are we ‘pretty’? Are we too fat? Are we popular? If we view ourselves negatively it reflects behaviour and actions. A positive approach is self acceptance.  The acceptance of our physical self can shift focus of mental, social and emotional development. So the major goal is to improve how we see ourselves in order to develop a positive self esteem – not just for today or tomorrow, but permanently!

Specifically it is necessary to consider the following:
*  Rid past negative programming
*  improve self projection ( watch out for
Body language)
*  increase confidence and self  acceptance
*  change perspective in relation to problem solving.

Remember people are interested in who you are and your opinions.  Reflect on all the positive aspects of yourself and be proud of who are!

Feeling is just as important as doing..emotions grow and fester and then dictate negative behaviour. The only way to resolve these situations is to confront the feeling and act on it. So start by identifying and dealing with difficult emotions.

Learn to forgive. To forgive is to let something go, mourn and grieve the loss and be ready to move on. Forgiveness is ultimately an act of of self compassion. It’s painful but necessary to ‘ dump’ what is causing these negstive emotions.

Understand that failing is a part of being brave. We may experience disappointment but at least we tried, whatever the outcome!!

Self respect comes from accepting blame.  We have to take responsibility for our own life and actions and learn from mistakes.

No matter how hard we try, sometimes things go wrong.  We need to examine past mistakes, forgive, let go of self blame, reject any regrets ……start again!!

Smoking used to be ‘cool’. Today we know the dangers of nicotine and how addictive cigarette smoking is.

Most distress in daily life isn’t  created by events – it’s our interpretation.  Pessimistic thoughts turn into crisis
Break rumination- when something bad happens. Seek a healthy distraction, think straight, see the bigger picture. Avoid the downward spiral.

Enjoy the good things in life. The most positive people spend more time with people they enjoy and love.  We laugh more , smile more thus creating happy memories. It’s best just to go with the flow.
